Love This Evening

Every year for my birthday we have steak or go out for steak. This particular year, 2017, we went out for steak. There is a restaurant about 15-20 minutes outside Coeur d'Alene, Id called The Wolf Lodge . This place has the best steak to be found anywhere in this area. They grill their steak over an open fire and the result is just amazing! This is usually my birthday destination!  Sketches In Thyme  has another sketch up on their blog and I decided to use it to scrapbook the picture we took at  The Wolf Lodge .  The Sketch: My Take: To Create this layout I used: DCWV: Peachy Keen paper stack pearls from my stash, stickles and distressing ink Cricut Cartridges: The First Few Years - frame Bits and Pieces - Dandelion flowers Babette Font - title  Thank you so much for stopping by! Valentine Hearts Card Challenge

Image
The  Bitten by the Bug 2  challenge blog has a challenge up this week. The challenge is to create a project with a heart on it. I am running low on my stock of hand made cards so I decided to participate! To create my card I used two different cut files from Design Space. The main part of the card comes from the Creative Everyday Cards cartridge. I removed the work "love" and replaced it with a heart die cut from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge.  The paper comes from the My Mind's Eye - Filled with Love paper stack and I used distressing ink on the edges of the cuts. Check out the finished product: The card is cut at 11 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall The heart is 1.8 inches tall Thank you so much for stopping by! Blessings,

Family

I back with another challenge entry. This one is for Sketches In Thyme . They have a cool sketch up this week and I decided to use it to scrap this pictures of me, my daughter, my mom, and my grandmother from a lunch date we had. 4 generations of women in my family - it was a fun outing! Now I did deviate quite a bit from the sketch, but I followed the basics! This was actually a very challenging sketch mostly due to the paper choice. I had decided to use a paper stack I hadn't used in awhile - not really my favorite stack LOL.  So, I was definitely challenged, but I think it came out ok?! Check out the sketch: My Take: To Create this Layout I used: DCWV: Orange Envy papers stack * the circle cluster base behind the photo and the flower cluster at the top left are all cut from the paper stack. Basic Grey: "Sweet" tag and vellum flower and heart Home DecorVinyl Wall Art cartridge - Family title Krinkle Ribbon Thank you so much

Game Night #friendship

Image
We love getting together with friends to play games. The more the merrier! This particular night we were playing a fun game called Robo Rally. It's where you each manage a robot and plan its moves throughout the game board. There are holes, conveyor belts, pushers and lasers that you need to avoid and plan around as well as avoid being shot in the back by other robots. Its a fun game that is hard to win but hilarious in the effort! I choose a sketch put up on the Sketch n Scrap challenge blog  to scrapbook this photo.  The Sketch: My Take: To Create this layout I used: DCWV: Boho Style paper pack Cuttlebug: Feathers and Arrows - feather dies Basic Grey: Diecut cardstock and transparencies Babette Cricut Font - #friendship Family Album cartridge - title Distressing ink and Krinkle Ribbon A closer look: Thank you for stopping by! Blessings,

#awesomekid Layout

Image
I have so enjoyed taking pictures of my kids wearing their favorite outfits. As I catch up on all the pictures I need to scrap from the last couple of years, you'll see a lot more of this - I am sure. I decided to use a sketch from the  Let's Get Sketchy  challenge blog. Elijah was wearing a T-shirt and Trucker Hat from one of our favorite small shops, Onxy Avenue Apparel , in this pictures. We love the monochromatic look of the black and white clothing. This T-shirt, especially, was one that I washed and he wore - repeat!  The Sketch: My Take: As you can see I did take a pretty big detour as I put this one together, but I promise you that this layout was entirely inspired by the sketch above.  To Create this Layout: The Paper Studio: Ninth Street paper stack Me & My Big Ideas:  paper stickers Heidi Swapp: Chipboard pieces  Pebbles: Photo Overlay Jot: popup "Boy" sticker Thank you so much for stopping by! Blessings,

Game Night

Image
We love to play games as a family at our house. My husband and I are really trying to make it more of a regular occurrence! So, our goal is to make one of the weekend nights a Family Game Night. This particular night we were just playing Skip Bo. We also love to play strategy games like Settles of Catan, Hunters and Gatherers, Flux, and Ticket to Ride - just to name a few. For these pictures I decided to use a sketch from the Sketches In Thyme  blog. This was a fun sketch to work with! I decided to reverse my triangles to go the opposite direction and I put my title on top rather than the below the pictures.  The Sketch: My Take: To Create this Layout I used: Colorbok: Signature Paper - Hopscotch paper stack Family Album Cricut Cartridge: title Designers Calendar Cartridge: dice Thank you for stopping by!   This layout is late in coming this is the last day of 3rd and 4th grade for my kiddos which was for the 2016-2017 school year. I am a bit behind in my scrapbooking! But, at least I'm working on it! And that has to count! Let's Scrap has a very fun sketch for us this time and I had a lot of fun working with it! I changed it up a little bit due to the fact that I wanted all my pictures to be seen on the grid page.
