This week it's all about saying goodbye to summer and to my term as DT on Cookin With Cricut . Such a bittersweet moment in so many ways. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on CWC and plan to continue on in participation and maybe even return next term if they'll have me back :)  So, we are telling everyone via paper crafting what we did this summer. I don't know about you but my family loves to go camping and we definitely did a lot of that. This layout doesn't represent this year's camping trips, however, because I'm still a year behind - so this is last summer. So, check out my layout for a taste of what I did this (last) summer. Welcome to Cooking With Cricut’s very special SURPRISE “Thank You” Blog Hop. Why is it so special? There are a couple of reasons! The first reason -- it is our 100th Cooking With Cricut challenge and the second (and most important) is to thank our wonderful leader and “Executive Chef” Melinda Beltran. Well, it's time to get ready for school and what a different year this will be for me and my family. My daughter is now in Kindergarten and offically began her Kindergarten year yesterday. It's amazing how quickly life goes and the kids grow up. I feel so sad and amazed by her at the same time. I can't believe I have child in school now! A new chapter has definitely begun! Well, this week at Cookin With Cricut it's all about school. I decided to make a shape card, check it out below. I thought that this card would be fun as a birthday card for my father n law (shhhh don't tell him). He used to drive buses for a living before he retired. I used my gypsy to take the bus off the Nate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge and weld it together with a second bus to create a card. Your turn, upload your Back to School creation to Cookin With Cricut!

Happy Birthday USA! This week at Cookin With Cricut we are asked to create a 4th of July project. I decided to make a general card that I could give out as a thank you or thinking of you card. I make this card using the Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge for the sentiment as well as the fireworks. The boy in the fire engine came from the A Child's Year Cricut Catridge. Now, it's your turn. Welcome to the first day of summer, doesn't that thought just warm you right up?! I'm so ready for summer, especially since our first camping trip of the season is coming up very soon! That brings me to this weeks challenge at Cookin With Cricut . We are to create a project that features a BBQ or Picnic theme, or an item you would find at one of those events. I decided to create a layout ahead of time for pictures that I know I will take of BBQs I know we will have! I created this layout using the Father's Day Cricut Solutions Cartridge. I used this cart to cut out the BBQ you see in the above picture. Everyday Paper Dolls was also used to make the BBQ guy and the little BBQer. (the other two embellishments came out of a swap, so I'm not sure what carts were used to make them). The paper comes from DCWV's The Guy stack. Happy Father's Day!! This week at Cookin With Cricut  the challenge is to create a gift for the dad in your life. The only stipulation is that we didn't make cards (not that you can't but well you can't - at least for this challenge). My husband recently got a new job, so for Father's Day I decided to make him something for his desk at work. I made a desk organizer and I plan to let the kids fill it up with some paper clips, candy, and note cards. The paper comes from the DCWV's The Guy Stack. By the way, this desk organizer came off a tutorial I found at Inking Idaho . To decorate the organizers I used the Handyman Cricut Cartridge. And, for the word Tools I used the A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge. Now it's your turn, create a gift for the dad in your life and then upload it to Cookin With Cricut .

This cart is awesome and has so many features such as: card/tag feature, phrases, and fonts, not to mention the fabulous characters that are soo soo cute! Check out a few of the projects that I have made using this cricut cartridge! First up is a simple birthday banner I made for a friend! The paper comes from My Mind's Eye Party Time paper stack. Next, a simple but fun birthday card, also made from paper from the above stack! The below card comes from one of the card features on the cartridge. It's once again time for a fabulous challenge from the  Cookin With Cricut blog. This is a week long Blogaversary celebration where you will see some awesome projects all week long. Today we were asked to create a project using a Tiara – we must use a tiara or crown on your project. No sweat. I had created a door sign for my son's room awhile back and now was the perfect time to create on for my daughter. This is a week long Blogaversary celebration where you will see some awesome projects all week long. It is Wednesday and that means it's time for the Cookin With Cricut  wednesday challenge. This weeks theme is Pinkalicious. We are asked to create a project using your favorite shade of pink with satin-ribbons, fabric and/or flowers. This is the perfect theme for me as pink is one of my favorite colors and it gave me an excuse to create something for my daughter! Here is what I came up with: Grace need an extra thank you card to give to a family member to thank them for a birthday gift. Her theme was Tinkerbell, which is the cartridge I used to make this thank you card. To meet the challenge requirements I added a double layered prima flower held together with a heart brad in the upper left corner of the card. I think it finished off the card perfectly! This week at Cooking With Cricut  we are challenged to come up with a gift idea for Mother's Day. The catch? No cards allowed. Thats ok, because lately doing 3D projects have been very intriguing for me. So for this challenge I decided to 3D it. Using the Tags, Bags, and Boxes Cricut Cartridge I cut out this adorable purse. I embellished it with a flower and brad and used fiber as my handle. The paper comes from the DCWV La Creme stack. Now I have a very cute gift purse to fill up with some fun chocolate goodies and maybe even a coffee card! The nice thing about this gift purse is that its stands on its own, which makes it perfect to display on a shelf in your home. So, it's not only a gift box/purse but it's also home decor! Love it! This week the challenge is to create a card or gift for your favorite teacher and let them know that you care! Well, my daughter has a wonderful preschool teacher and I figured this challenge was the perfect opportunity to make a gift for her! The below project comes from a tutorial that I purchased from Inking Idaho , one of my favorite tutorial sites. She does amazing work with paper and I only wish I could come up ideas like this - well maybe I could but why when I can make her fabulous ideas! Enjoy my project! It's time to get your bling on over at the Cooking With Cricut  blog. This weeks challenge is to create a project that features bling, bling, and more bling. To me, when I think diamonds and bling I think princesses and birthday parties. Well, that could be because it was my daughter's birthday this month and she is all about the princesses and the bling. So, this card is inspired by beautiful daughter who turned 5 this month (Happy Belated Birthday Grace!) I added some bling on the princesses dress and in her hair. Then I used glitter to outline the princesses dress and embellish the corners of the pattern paper base that the princess is mounted on. The princess is cut from the Once Upon A Princess Cricut Cartridge.The paper comes from the My Mind's Eye Party Time paper stack. What a fun card this was to make!
