Festival of Lights

Image
I've been working hard on my Christmas album and I have to admit it's a bit tough to do so many layouts with the same theme. I tend to get a little bored and start to lose creativity. However, sketches seem to help me solve this issue. Sketches in Thyme has a fun sketch that I decided to work with.  Here is the sketch: My Layout: This layout was pretty simple to put together.  I was very simplistic with this one, which isn't my normal. I used a banner from the Bits and Pieces Cricut cartridge to go under each of the photos. Then I cut out a basic square to also go under the photos.  The Title comes from the Phrases cartridge. The paper is all Bo Bunny: Winter Joy I used the remaining paper pieces to add a few embellishments like the frame over the top photo and the arrow on the frame, as well as the arrow at the bottom on the photo.  I hope you enjoyed my layout, thank you for stopping by! Blessings,

Thank you Card

Image
One of the things I've been trying to do in my craft room is to work on my cards. I have been in such a scrapbooking mode that I have neglected my cards and now I am down to - well not much if any to choose from. Sketch n Scrap has card sketches up on their blog so I decided I better use one and create a card.  The Card Sketch: My Card: This card is made using My Mind's Eye: Dolled up 6x6 paper pad To You From Me Cricut cartridge: "Thank you" Family Album cartridge: Sun die cut Sentiment base is cut using a Cuttlebug die cut Thank you so much for stopping by! Early Gift

Image
In the last few years we have started a new tradition around Christmas time. We have started to have an early family gift or two throughout the month before Christmas. The idea behind this is that the kids get to open an early gift and that gift leads to some quality family fun time. This year we had gotten a good deal on laser guns during Black Friday. Instead of saving them we decided to make this the early family gift! It was a huge hit and even Jason and I had fun running around shooting at the kids.  To scrap this these photos I used a sketch from the Sketch n Scrap blog, one of my favorite sketch challenge sites.  The Sketch: My Layout: To Create this Layout: Fancy Pants Designs: Happy Holidays by Jackie Eckles - Snowfall paper Christmas tag and sticker from my stash Heidi Swapp: Glitter Ephemera  Bits and Pieces Cricut Cartridge: banner 'Awesome' Cricut Font and Pen: title Washi tape from stash Thank you so much for stoppi

Jesus is the Reason

I am way behind on my Christmas Album. So, the following layout is from 2016. I'm thinking to try and play catch up so hopefully you'll be seeing more Christmas layouts in the days to come! I decided use a sketch from the  Sketch n Scrap  blog for the photo of Jesus' birthday cake!  I am also entering this over at the  Lasting Memories Layout Challenges  blog. Their challenge is to use plaid patterned paper. P is for Puppy

I am so excited to announce that I was choosen as a Guest Designer this month for the double page layout sketch at Stick It Down .  I love scrap booking and really love working with sketches. I have been scrapbooking for over 20 years at this point. I have two children, a golden-doodle, and I'm married to the best man a girl could ask for. And when I say the best I mean it! This man puts up with my scrapbooking obsession as well as my coffee addiction and my love of books (which are everywhere)!  I enjoy spending time in my craft room creating layouts for our family scrapbook albums. It is so fun to be able to open our family albums and not just look at pictures but relive the memories through the layouts themselves. I put my albums in the order in which things happened and I go year by year. The only problem with this method is that I end up with a lot of albums! I tend to scrap everything, however I find that it is so worth it when I look at my children enjoying them.

Man's Best Friend

I took this picture without my husband realizing it. I love it so much so it had to be scrapped all by itself. As For Me and My House

Image
We went down to the court house last year, and I can't remember the reason - probably something to do with the porch cover or shed we were building (permits?). Anyway, out in front of the court house was the Ten Commandments. I loved it!!! So, of course, I had to get photos of the kids with it.  To scrap these photos I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy  and wrapped it in with a challenge from A Cherry on Top  - Manufacturers Challenge - using manufactures that began with the letters M and B. I chose to use Bella Blvd paper and Me & My Big Ideas chipboard stickers. Check out the layout below! The Sketch: My Layout: To Create this layout I used: Bella Blvd: Illustrated Faith - Bright and Brave paper pack Me & My Big Ideas: Chipboard stickers Simple Stories: photo overlay Cricut Design Space Image: banner Lovesvg.com: verse  Cricut pen: to write verse using DS Washi Tape Thank you so much for stopping by!
