I Want To Remember

Two summers ago we went to Fort Steel in Canada and it was so much fun! It was like walking back in time! We met the locals and got to experience how they lived when the town was occupied by people that are not tourists. You Are The Cherry

Image
I don't make cards near as often as I should these days. I've most been scrapbooking! However, it's my mom's birthday as well as Valentines day this week so I figured I'd better start making some cards. A Cherry On Top has a card challenge up on their blog and the challenge was to use a sketch, which I will include below, and to include a cherry on the card.  I am, also, entering this card on the Bitten by the Bug 2 blog, the Cut It Up blog, and the Love to Scrap Challenge blog.  My Card: Pink Paislee: 360 6x6 paper pad Awesome font on Design Space: sentiment font Country Life Cricut Cartridge: cherries Cricut Basic Shapes: rectangles The Sketch: Thank you so much for stopping by! Let's Scrap - Harvest House

Image
As you can see below and by the title of this post, I am taking a short break from scrapbooking our Disney pictures - trust me it's short! I have this weird quirk where it's very difficult for me to scrapbook out of order. Some days I can and others - like this particular day I just couldn't do it. This amazing sketch put out by the Let's Scrap blog  just didn't work with the pictures that were next in my Disney box/envelope - so I went to what was next in my regular family album picture box/envelope. Ah ha, perfect match. So, here are our pictures from the Harvest House. This is an amazing place in Greenbluff that we have a blast visiting in the fall. They have a lot of fun fall activities as well as food! Many years we go with my sister and her family and my parents. This is a tradition we all look forward to every year! On to the sketch: And my take: To Create this Layout I used: DCWV: Autumn Splendor paper stack Mambi Chips: "Fami...

Farm Fresh Pumpkins!

Image
As we do each year we did last year. Yup still a year behind, but I'm getting there. Here is a layout I put together using this weeks sketch from the Let's Scrap challenge Forum. Here's the sketch: Here's my layout: I used the Linen Closet paper stack from DCWV to create this layout. I cut the title "Farm Fresh" using the Country Life Cricut Cartridge. I added some chipboard from my stash to further embellish the page. Thanks, for checking out my layout! Till next time, Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. A Thank You Card for the Fall Season

Image
It's about time for my favorite season, fall!  Where I can get back into my jeans and my comfy sweats - I just love the cooler weather! It means it's about time for our annual trip to the Greenbluff farms, pumpkin lattes, and apple picking. This month Bitten by the Bug 2  is having a design team call and they requested a fall themed project to apply. When I think of fall, I think of horses, fields, farms, sunsets, being comfortable outside and the list goes on. I decided to make a thank you card using the Country Life Cricut Cartridge, one of my favorites! I loved the sunset image as well as the horses, so I decided to put them both together. Using my gypsy, I welded two shadows of the sunset image together to form the base of my card. Then cut out the remainder of the image layers. I attached the horse with the fence over the top of the sunset image. Using a fall themed stamp set I stamped and embossed the Thank You sentiment in gold embossing powder to...

A few more for the Sketch-a-thon

Image
Well  here's a few more for the Birthday Sketch-a-thon at My Scraps and More . The challenge was to be inspired by a dog clown picture. I used the colors and the polka dots as my inspiration for this layout. The paper comes from the DCWV The Kidlet Stack adn I used trendy twine o the tags for added embellishment. The challenge was to use a song title for the layout title. I choose to use a song by Laura Veirs "Cool Water" The title was cut out using the Country Life Cricut Cartridge, the circles using the George and Basic Shapes cartridge, and the paper comes from the DCWV Sunday Afternoon paper stack. The challenge for this layout was to use journaling strips. I'm not much of a journaler so I used word strips for my layout.  The title comes from the font feature on the Country Life Cricut cartridge and George and Basic Shapes was used for the circles. I used my gypsy to create the thin circle outlines. The paper comes from the DCWV Sunday Aft...

I want to share about another great site for scrapbookers. This forum is called My Scraps and More . I love this forum because they always have something going on there. If you like online crops and games than this is a great site to check out. Right now they have a Sketch-a-thon going on that runs until Sunday, April 7th. At this point I have completed the first three layout sketches. And, of course I will share them with you here! Sketch #1 The Twist: 2 different alpha's on your page My take: For my two different alpha's I used the Country Life Cricut Cartridge to cut out the title "France" and I used my alpha stamps to stamp the "For Work" underneath. I added some gears to tie it in with the corresponding layout that you'll see next. Sketch #2 The Twist: 2 sets of 2 on your LO My Take: For my two sets of two I used two sets of gears, one set on the left side of the picture and the other two ...

Falling Leaves

Image
Welcome to another Monday challenge at Fantabulous Cricut . This week we are honoring the leaves that fallen to provide the way for winter to come and then spring and then. . . ok  you get the idea and I guess I'm feeling a little dramatic this morning. LOL. This is my favorite time of year, mostly because I love the colors of fall. I love the feeling in the air and the cooler weather and I love the fall paper lines!!! Ok I'll get my project :) I decided to create a layout for my family scrapbook. One of the things we love to do in the fall is to visit the farms. So, I made this layout using the following Cricut Cartridges: Tree - Stretch Your Imagination Leaves - Straight From the Nest Phrase - Country Life Well, now it's your turn. Create away and then upload your creation to  Fantabulous Cricut .

Down on the Farm

Image
It's time for another Fantabulous Cricut blog Challenge. This week we are asked to visit the farm and create  a project using a Farm Animal (Cow, Pig, Horse, Sheep, etc). Ok, gotta love this especially since it got me using a cartridge that I have had for awhile and not used much! So, check out my card set below! To make these cards I pretty much solely used the Country Life Cricut Cartridge, however, I did use the Paper Lace Cart for the base on a couple of these cards. I embossed the backgrounds to give the cards a little texture and added some distressing ink around the edges to embellish them a bit.  I have included a few more pics of the entire set below, as well as the file folder I made (using a tutorial from Inking Idaho ) to hold the card set. Well, thank you for looking and I hope that you are inspired to create your own Down on the Farm project and upload it to  Fantabulous Cricut !

Falling into Fall

Image
I don't know about you but I am so glad that fall is almost here! I love this time of year where I can wear jeans again and can be outside without melting! I've been walking on the trial that goes by the river near our house and it started to look like fall as the pine needles have started to litter the path - I just love it!!! So, this was an easy challenge for me this week at  Cut It Up Challenges   where we are asked to create a project that is inspired by the below picture. So, in thinking about trees and apples and how it is time to go pick them, I just had to do an apple tree for my card. We are sponsored this week by Trendy Twine  and were given a sample to work with. My project is below: To create this card, I used the Country Life Cricut Cartridge. I thought the tree was adorable, as most images on this cartridge are! I used the  Trendy Twine  for the bottom of my card to give it the sense of fall littering the ground. At least I ...
