Let's Scrap - Scrap Retreat

Image
In 2017 our annual scrapbooking retreat was very memorable. It snowed. . . a lot! We ended up loosing power for about 5 hours in the morning. It was actually a fun experience. I work so much with my Cricut that it was an awesome challenge to create layouts and to not use the Cricut for them. Despite the awesome challenge of creating without diecuts, I was very excited when the power came back on!  I used the left side of the below sketch from Let's Scrap  to create my layout. My Layout: To Create My Layout I used: Pink Paislee: Switchboard paper stack Mambi Chips: chipboard stickers Small Talk Frames & Tags Cricut Cartridge: frames The Girls Paperie by Margie: Paper Girl - letter stickers "Retreat" Washi and brackets: from stash Thank you so much for stopping by!!! I am making a lot of progress on our family album. I'm finally into Sept 2017 with this layout here. I plan to scrap a lot this summer! My goal is to get to the point where I am scrapbooking current events. Hmmm, it is a lofty goal, but a girl has to have a goal!  Let's Scrap has another great sketch out for you! I had one extra photo that I just couldn't leave out, see the center photo on the left side, so I had to alter the sketch just a bit.  The Sketch: My Layout: To Create this Layout: DCWV: Just My Type paper stack Project Life: photo overlay Imaginisce: School - stickers Jolee's Boutique: School Words: 3D stickers Bits & Pieces Cricut Cartridge: banners Miss Kate's Cuttables : "1st Day of School" title A Closer look: Thank you so much for stopping by!!! Let's Scrap - Beach Fun

Image
It's time for another awesome sketch over at the Let's Scrap  blog! This one was a great challenge. At first glance I was like, maybe I'll just do the one side????? I wasn't sure how to get the design on the left side. But, using Cricut Design Space and the splice feature I was able to make the design. I decided to use some beach photos for a fun summer layout. The Sketch: To Create this Layout I used: DCWV: Collage Art paper stack Fancy Pants: True Friend - photo frame Fancy Pants: Wave Searcher - chipboard stickers Pack Your Bags Cricut Cartridge - Beach Fun title Small Talk Frames and Tags cartridge: triangular shapes (used splicing feature to adjust) Cuttlebug - die cutting - wave Thank you so much for stopping by! Let's Scrap 4th of July 2017

Image
So I've been on a bit of a slump. I scrap-booked so much in February that I ended up taking last month off. Not intentionally but it did happen. I got really into a book I was reading (Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah) that as soon as it was done I read the sequel (Fly Away). At that point I really just got into a reading kick. So, March was all about books. Now it April and I'm back at it. Hopefully a bit more regular again.  I'm in July 2017 for my family album and decided to use the following Let's Scrap sketch for my photos. This was a fun sketch to do. As you can see I did alter the way I did the photos. Instead of using 9 small squares/photos I used that space for 4 photos. It just worked out better for what I was working with. But, if I come across some photos that I can cut up small than I may have to use this sketch again! The Sketch: My Take: To Create this layout:  Creative Memories: paper pack Project Life: High Five - "Makes me...
