New Coat of Paint

I am a Guest Designer at  Lasting Memories Scrapbook Layout Challenges  this month! And, I'm so excited to share the figth and final layout challenge for the month!  I decided to continue scrapping our move into our current home. We had decided to replace the carpets sooner rather than later due to the carpets smelling poorly after being shampooed. They needed replacing anyway, so why wait?! Since the carpets were pulled up we decided to pain the entire upstairs. It became a family affair and of course I took photos of everyone doing their part! My Layout : The Challenge: The challenges for April are all going to be word challenges where you use scrappy items or techniques for every letter of the word for that week.  This Week's Word is: RAIN Red Arrows Illustrated Faith New Coat of Paint - title To Create this Layout I used: We R Memory Keepers: Sports paper stack Illustrated Faith: Bright and Brave - arrow tab an...

Pencils Down Summer Up

Image
This was the last day of school and it was such a fun but sad day. This 4th grade class was special. This was a group of kids and moms that not only spent their days at school (volunteering in the case of the moms) but also spent time outside of school hanging out. The summer to follow this last day of school photo would be an awesome summer of hanging out at the beach and parks. It was sad because it was Elijah's last day at the school as well. He would move onto attending a Stem charter academy for his 5th grade year! For this special photo I had to use a great sketch layout. I found one on the Stick It Down blog.  My Layout: The Sketch: To Create this Layout I used: Bella Blvd: Squeeze Day scrapbook kit Lovesvg.com:  title Illustrated Faith: Encouragement - "Celebrate" and polka dot heart Illustrated Faith: Bright & Brave - Love tab Illustrated Faith: Friendship - "Grow in Faith" and "think beauty" circl...

Museum Field Trip

Image
At this point in 2018 Grace had just left school to come home and be home schooled. She really had a great relationship with her class and was invited to come back for the 5th grade field trip to the NW Museum of Arts and Culture. She had a blast with her friends and it ended up being a great send off to her new schooling adventure. For this class photo I used a sketch from The Studio Challenges blog. This is the first time that I am entering a challenge on this site as I just found it when searching for sketch ideas. The Sketch: My Layout: To Create this Layout I used: Stampin Up: Kaleidoscope paper pack Illustrated Faith: Bright and Brave: tabbies/arrows Illustrated Faith: Encouragement - diecut prompts Simple Stories: chipboard flower and circle embellishments Simple Stories: Carpe Diem - Snap cards String and Color box distressing ink Decorative Paper clip from Walmart Vellum star from stash Thank you so much for stopping by! ...

Let's Scrap 4th of July 2017

Image
So I've been on a bit of a slump. I scrap-booked so much in February that I ended up taking last month off. Not intentionally but it did happen. I got really into a book I was reading (Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah) that as soon as it was done I read the sequel (Fly Away). At that point I really just got into a reading kick. So, March was all about books. Now it April and I'm back at it. Hopefully a bit more regular again.  I'm in July 2017 for my family album and decided to use the following Let's Scrap sketch for my photos. This was a fun sketch to do. As you can see I did alter the way I did the photos. Instead of using 9 small squares/photos I used that space for 4 photos. It just worked out better for what I was working with. But, if I come across some photos that I can cut up small than I may have to use this sketch again! The Sketch: My Take: To Create this layout:  Creative Memories: paper pack Project Life: High Five - "Makes me...
