I'm Just Popping to Tell You

Image
I'm Just Popping to Tell You!!! The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog is having a fun challenge this week. The challenge is to create a project using an animal diecut from your cricut cartridges. I can't resist an animal challenge, those are some of the most fun cuts! I decided to use my Give a Hoot Cricut Cartridge, as I have yet to really use it very much. It has such fun images on it and when I saw this cute bear sticking his head out of the trash can I knew I found the cut I wanted to use. I started to just cut it out to put on the front of a card (scroll down and there is a pic of the first card that I made), but I wasn't liking it very much. One of my favorite kind of cards to make is a shape card, so I figured I'd try again and make it a shape card instead. I welded the image together using my gyspy and I think it turned out pretty cute. I used some ink to distress it a bunch so it would look a little dirty, added some twine and buttons to embellish it...

A Thank You Card for the Fall Season

Image
It's about time for my favorite season, fall!  Where I can get back into my jeans and my comfy sweats - I just love the cooler weather! It means it's about time for our annual trip to the Greenbluff farms, pumpkin lattes, and apple picking. This month Bitten by the Bug 2  is having a design team call and they requested a fall themed project to apply. When I think of fall, I think of horses, fields, farms, sunsets, being comfortable outside and the list goes on. I decided to make a thank you card using the Country Life Cricut Cartridge, one of my favorites! I loved the sunset image as well as the horses, so I decided to put them both together. Using my gypsy, I welded two shadows of the sunset image together to form the base of my card. Then cut out the remainder of the image layers. I attached the horse with the fence over the top of the sunset image. Using a fall themed stamp set I stamped and embossed the Thank You sentiment in gold embossing powder to...

Layouts, layouts, layouts

Image
So, I'm on a roll and of course I have to post all my layouts. I'm just way too excited about getting so much done for our family scrapbook! These layouts were all completed using sketches from the My Scraps and More Birthday Sketch-a-thon.  (From this point on I will not be posting the sketches. You will have to create an account and see for yourself) :) This challenge required the use of inks. I used Tim Holt'z Walnut stain distress ink and Colorbox inks to distress all the pattern paper peices used on this layout. The circle paper comes from George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge and the "Preschool" title comes from the Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge. The "ABC" in the lower right corner comes from the Recess Cricut Cartridge. The paper is DCWV: My Sunshine. This layout challenge required the use of stamps. The camera, arrow, bracket, and two corners were all stamped and embossed, then cut out before applied to the page. The title...

Sketch-a-thon: Cards

Image
Well, there are a few card sketches that have been included on the My Scraps and More  Birthday Sketch-a-thon and I can always use more cards for my card stash. So here are the two card  sketch challenges I've done so far. Use a Punched Shape My Take: Now, I don't have a lot of punches so I used my border punch for this challenge. Hopefully, that flies :) I used paper from the DCWV's The All About Girls matte stack for the both the card base and it's butterfly center. I used the border punch all around the center piece of butterfly cardstock and then added some pre-made flowers from my stash to embellish the card. I used a stamp for the sentiment. Use twine on your card My Take: This was an easy challenge for me as one of my favorite things to work with lately is twine. I just made the wavy shape with twine on my card and stamped a sentiment on a piece of pattern cardstock that was in my scrap drawer. The paper comes from the ...

France and Sandcastles

Image
I want to share about another great site for scrapbookers. This forum is called My Scraps and More . I love this forum because they always have something going on there. If you like online crops and games than this is a great site to check out. Right now they have a Sketch-a-thon going on that runs until Sunday, April 7th. At this point I have completed the first three layout sketches. And, of course I will share them with you here! Sketch #1 The Twist: 2 different alpha's on your page My take: For my two different alpha's I used the Country Life Cricut Cartridge to cut out the title "France" and I used my alpha stamps to stamp the "For Work" underneath. I added some gears to tie it in with the corresponding layout that you'll see next. Sketch #2 The Twist: 2 sets of 2 on your LO My Take: For my two sets of two I used two sets of gears, one set on the left side of the picture and the other two ...

Pins to Creation - Pie Boxes

Image
For this week's post here at Pins to Creation  I am going to back track just a bit. Only in the sense that Thanksgiving is now behind us and my project today revolves around it. My husband absolutely loves pumpkin pie and he has recently started a new job. Well, I do love to spoil him, especially this time of year. This year his team at work benefited from my spoiling my husband. I saw this great idea on Pinterest  to make a pie using Sweet Tooth Boxes Cricut Cartridge. Here is my inspiration: This was made by Patti over at Creations by Patti !  You will, also, find this picture pinned to my Pinterest boards  Stuff I've Done/Tried .  Feel free to visit me on Pinterest and be a follower! Here is my project: I hope you enjoyed my project, I know that my husband and his co-workers did! Come back on Friday for another great idea!!!

Breast Cancer Awareness With Cut It Up

Image
Welcome to another Cut It Up challenge. This week we are honoring Breast Cancer Awareness by making a project in honor of it. Just remember to include a die cut and the challenge ends Oct. 17th at Noon! Here's my project. This card was made using the Home Decor Cricut Cartridge for the base of the sentiment. I used a Bible verse stamp that says:  "My peace I give unto you let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:1 I thought the verse went pretty well with the theme of Breast Cancer this week. I embossed it with white embossing powder to help it stand out and added a pink ribbon from my stash to embellish the card and to create the pink ribbon. Now, it's your turn to create a project and upload it to  Cut It Up ! Don't forget to add a diecut to your project!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Image
Welcome to this weeks Fantabulous Cricu t blog challenge. This week we are honoring Breast Cancer Awareness week. The challenge is called "Get 'em Squished" and we are asked to use the color pink in our projects.  I decided to make a pink and white card. Every woman is beautiful so I choose to use a stamp that said Beautiful and then I embossed it with white embossing powder. I used the Stamping, Home Decor, and George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridges to make this card. I created the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon out of some pink ribbon that I had and added a peice of bling to embellish it. Now it's your turn to upload your project to Fantabulous Cricut !

Birthday Celebration

Image
Hello and welcome to another challenge by  Fantabulous Cricut ! This week the challenge is to create a birthday project using a candle. This came and the perfect time for me as it was recently my sister's birthday! I decided to make a gift card holder/card as I had bought her a coffee card. This gift card holder was cut from the Wrap it Up Cricut Cartridge using the tag feature. I added glitter to the candles to make them look more on fire and covered the holes on the sides of the holder (cause I forgot to hide contour them) with glitter primas. I stamped Happy Birthday in the center to finish it off. Below, you can see the holder with a card in it. Nope, not a coffee card in there - didn't quite have it in hand yet, so I'm showing you an example using our REI Membership card :) Now, it's your turn to head on over to  Fantabulous Cricut  and upload your creation!

Falling into Fall

Image
I don't know about you but I am so glad that fall is almost here! I love this time of year where I can wear jeans again and can be outside without melting! I've been walking on the trial that goes by the river near our house and it started to look like fall as the pine needles have started to litter the path - I just love it!!! So, this was an easy challenge for me this week at  Cut It Up Challenges   where we are asked to create a project that is inspired by the below picture. So, in thinking about trees and apples and how it is time to go pick them, I just had to do an apple tree for my card. We are sponsored this week by Trendy Twine  and were given a sample to work with. My project is below: To create this card, I used the Country Life Cricut Cartridge. I thought the tree was adorable, as most images on this cartridge are! I used the  Trendy Twine  for the bottom of my card to give it the sense of fall littering the ground. At least I ...

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Image
This weeks challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut  is to create a project using some sort of transportation (bus, train, car, bike, etc). It was recently my dad's birthday so I decided to make him a gift for his office space. I used a piece of pattern paper with some nice leaves on it for my background on the frame. Then cut out the old car and layers from the Wrap It Up Cricut Cartridge. I added a stamped scripture verse in the upper left corner to finish it off.  "My peace I give unto you, let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27 I hope you enjoyed my project as it was fun to create! Now it's your turn to head on over to  Fantabulous Cricut  and upload your own creation!
