Amy Jo's Birthday Bash & Blog Hop

Image
Good morning, fabulous friends and welcome to Amy Jo's Birthday Bash & Blog Hop! We are so excited you could join us today to help celebrate Amy's birthday! This is a very special unique hop as we were not required to just stick with one particular subject or theme. Amy asked us all to use any of her favorite things to create a card or project with that in mind. Some examples of Amy's favorite things are the colors black, white, and hot pink, along with anything Alice in Wonderland, she listed some of her favorite animals, etc! If you arrived here from Dana's blog , then you are in the right place! If you just happened upon my blog today, please start at the beginning with Amy Jo's blog   Scrapping, Card Making and Living with Fibro  because you don't want to miss out on the fabulous prizes that are being sponsored! This is a two-day hop; however, we are only making one project. That should give you two full days to go through the entire hop and leave

Fantabulous Cricut's 100th Challenge!

Image
It's time for Fantabulous Cricut  blog to host their 100th challenge. This week the challenge is to use the 3 colors associated with FCCB Green, Purple and Turquoise some where on your project. Mine is below. I made a circle shaped card cut from the Lovely Floral Cricut Cartridge. The sentiment Create, also, comes from this cartrige. (This cart by the way is awesome! And you will be seeing more from it in the near future). The cricut head comes from the Car Decals Cricut Cartridge and using my crop-a-dile I punched holes all around the card and weaved purple fiber to add depth to the card. Now it's your turn to create something in the FCCB colors and link it up!

A Bridal Shower Card

Image
I recently went to a personal bridal shower, the theme was Victoria Secret. Talk about a fun shower! I don't think I've ever gone to a shower that was that much fun. They had the shower at a local Cupcake Shoppe, called Frosted  in Coeurd'Alene, Id. It was such a nice atmosphere and the cupcakes were amazing! This is the card I made for the bride to be. I am also entering this in the Made Especially For You Card challenge this week. Their challenge was to use three different papers for your project. I used the Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge for the Do Not Disturb sentiment and the Tie the Knot Cricut Cartridge for the corset. I used some pink and black polka dot pattern paper, some black glitter paper, and a piece of the grey metallic paper for the diecuts. Inside the card I made a bookmark using a Love definition stamp with more of the metallic paper and some black fiber.

Owl Card

Image
The challenge over at the Cooking With the Cricut  blog was to work off of the below sketch and then to use three out of nine listed embellishments. My creation is below the sketch. For this card I used the Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge for the Owl. I used a Martha Stewart Corner Punch for the decorative corners. After punching the corners I saved the remnants and used the flower insides as embellishment and the outskirt remnants of the corners to further embellish my corners. Hopefully that all made sense :) The three embellishments I choose to use for the challenge was glitter, ink (I inked all the edges of each paper element on the card), and small flowers. The pattern paper comes from the DCWV The Luxury paper stack.

Happy Birthday Mom and a Valentines Project!

Image
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I Love You!! Here's a valentines project that I've been working on and finally finished this morning! Well, it wasn't that it took a long time to do - it just took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to the embellishment to look! It's Valentine's Day and I pray that everyone reading my blog today has a wonderful day! This day reminds me of how much Jesus did for us and how much He must love us to do what He did, die on the cross so that we might someday live with Him. I'd say that is the best Valentine's Day gift a person could get. Fortunately, everyone can have this gift - Hooray! All you have to do is ask and it's yours - see V-day isn't all bad :) even if you don't have a love in your life, well you do :) So, my project today is just that - I made a reminder for myself and my family that Jesus is the ultimate Valentines Day gift! "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever

I Love You!

I recently discovered a great new challenge blog, ok not new but new to me. The blog is called Cooking With Cricut . So, I decided to join in on their challenge this week. The challenge was to create a grown up valentine using the color black and brads. I dry embossed a black peice of cardstock and punched the corners using a Martha Stewart Corner Punch. I cut the heart and the sentiment base from the Tie The Knot Cricut Cartrige. I stamped the sentiment base with versamark ink and then used silver embossing powder over the top. For my brads I attached two heart shaped brads on either side of the sentiment after threading some black fiber through the holes. ******************************************* The layout below was made for a challenge on the Let's Scrap  forum. This is a great resource for sketches, if you like to scrap using sketches. They have cards and layout sketches to work from, plus great challenges every week. Below is the sketch and then my take on it. Fo

Fun With Puns at Fantabulous Cricut

Image
This week is a fun challenge over at the  Fantabulous Cricut  blog.  We are asked to create a project or card using a funny title or phrase. I had a lot of fun putting this card together. A friend of mine came over to scrap and she had just bought the Love You a Latte Cricut Lite cartridge. Now this is a cartridge that I have been coveting but haven't brought myself to buy at full price yet. She let me play with it and the below card was the result. The phrase comes from the Just Because Card Cricut Cartridge and the coffee cup and coffee beans come from the Love You a Latte Cricut Lite Cartridge. To give the card a little depth I dry embossed the  coffee beans and the phrase. The paper comes from the DCWV Luxury paper stack. I had a lot of fun doing this card, now it's your turn!

Preschool Valentine Cards

Image
My daughter is in preschool this year and she is so excited to give out valentine cards to all her friends at school. After going over her two choice, whether to go buy some valentines or to make them, she decided she wanted to make them. So, I spent one evening cutting out all the images/diecuts that she had picked out and then we sat down and got to gluing. I think they turned out pretty good, she is so gonna be scrapbooker like her momma! All of the diecuts, except for the lady bug, are from the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge. The ladybug is from Create a Critter.
