40th Birthday

Image
Here's another layout I did tonight of my 40th birthday back in May 2018. I used a sketch from Sketches in Thyme  to scrap the photo of me blowing out a candle. I don't usually like to scrap myself but I guess when you turn 40 you don't have a choice. I am also using this layout to enter the challenge on the Bitten by the Bug 2  blog.  My Layout: And the Sketch: To Create this layout I used: Park Lane: No Prob-Llama paper stack Kaisercraft: Party Time photo overlay Dear Lizzy: Die cut shapes Baby Steps Cricut Font: title Small Talk Frames and Tags Cartridge: chevron arrow  Stickles and color box rouge ink Thank you so much for stopping by! Using my scraps to make cards

Image
So, one thing that is great about keeping all your bits and pieces of your pattern scrap paper is that it works great when it's time to make some cards. That's why I do not throw any of my scraps away. I even have a system to save my scraps. Which I'll share more about below. But, back to the cards for the moment. Sketch n Scrap  has a couple of card sketches on their blog and I decided to make some cards using some of my scrap paper. My second card will be in a seperate post. 1st Card: I used scrap pieces from: Park Lane: No Prob-Llama paper stack Cuttlebug "Best Wishes" diecut  Colorbox ink pad to distress edges. I used this sketch for inspiration: Here's a peek at how I store my scrap paper: Each paper stack/pad has it's own baggy of scraps. On the outside of the baggy I use permanent marker to write which brand and the name of the paper stack. I have so many Baggies of scraps I have two bins. I, also, s...

The Mountains are Calling

Image
For these fun photos taken at Lookout Pass Ski Resort I decided to use a sketch from the  Scrap Our Stash  blog. This was suppposed to be a cartoon inspired sketch challenge. I will say that my layout started out inspired by the colors of the Smurfs but them morphed into the layout you see below. Does it count if it started out inspired???? What happened was that I had papers of the smurf holiday colors but then remembered that I had bought a kit from Simple Stories specifically for snowboarding photos and then it moved in a different direction entirely. I do have my bow on there as well as gold lettering in my title.  Here's my layout below: And the layout and cartoon inspiration: To Create my Layout I used: Simple Stories: Sub Zero base paper, stickers, chipboard, diecuts Fancy Pants: Timbergrove - background square papers and tag Free SVG file online: Title  Stampin Up: green bow paperclip twine I used the following sketch from A...

80th Birthday

My husband Jason said the sweetest words to his father during the 80th birthday celebration. I am so glad I was able to capture a photo of them. Many others stood up that day as well to share stories and words of appreciation with Don. It was so fun to hear the stories and to hear the respect that people, including my husband, had for Don. I choose to use a sketch from the Sketches In Thyme blog to scrap a couple of these photos. The Best Memories

Image
One of the most fun days was when we joined some friends on the lake at a cabin they were renting. It was the most gorgeous place. The kids and the dogs swam and ran and kayaked. It made for some fabulous memories. Towards the end of the day the kids got out the fishing equipment and attempted to catch some fish on the dock. These photos ended up being my some of my all time favorites. I decided to pair these photos with T he Scraproom Blog's Freaky Fast formula challenge.  The Challenge: My Layout: To Create this Layout I used: My Mind's Eye: Lost and Found - Portobello Road paper stack My Mind's Eye: Lost and Found - Breeze ephemera Cricut Classic font - title Thank you so much for stopping by!
