Scrap Queen

I've been busy completing layouts for the My Scraps and More monthly/daily challenges and sometimes I get a little stuck on how I want me layouts to look. Often times when that happens I like to look for a sketches to help me with my inspiration. I decided to take a look at what the Let's Get Sketchy site had going on this week and they did not dissappoint.  Here is their sketch: And here is my take: I entered this layout in the  Let's Get Sketchy  challenge as well as the  My Scraps and More  challenge. For the MS&M challenge we were to use this receipe (colors up to us): 1 cup - gray/silver 1/2 cup - blue 1/8 cup - red a pinch - yellow The paper comes from DCWV: The District Stack, the the banner is from the Lovely Floral Cricut Cartridge, the arrow comes from the Graphically Speaking cart, the circles are from the George and Basic Shapes cart, and the title and journaling stickers are 7 Gypsies. I discovered something new about My Scraps and More . I knew that they had a blog, but I didn't realize until this week that they had a sketch challenge blog,  My Scraps & More Sketch blog . How much fun is that?! Here is their sketch: And here is my take on it: I liked the sketch and it worked perfectly, I think, with bicycle theme. The paper comes from DCWV: The Districk Stack. The banner was cut using the Lovely Floral Cartridge, the circles were from the George and Basic shapes cart, and the Journaling stickers are 7 Gypsies. Till next time, Blessings.

It's about time for my favorite season, fall!  Where I can get back into my jeans and my comfy sweats - I just love the cooler weather! It means it's about time for our annual trip to the Greenbluff farms, pumpkin lattes, and apple picking. This month Bitten by the Bug 2  is having a design team call and they requested a fall themed project to apply. When I think of fall, I think of horses, fields, farms, sunsets, being comfortable outside and the list goes on. I decided to make a thank you card using the Country Life Cricut Cartridge, one of my favorites! I loved the sunset image as well as the horses, so I decided to put them both together. Using my gypsy, I welded two shadows of the sunset image together to form the base of my card. Then cut out the remainder of the image layers. I attached the horse with the fence over the top of the sunset image. Using a fall themed stamp set I stamped and embossed the Thank You sentiment in gold embossing powder to...

This week Bitten By the Bug2   is have a Shape Up Challenge where we can do shape cards or layouts. I choose to do a shape card, because I love to turn Cricut images into shape cards. In my card stash I am getting low on boyish cards for birthdays, so I pulled out my Robotz cricut cartridge and let my 4 year old son pick a robot for me to turn into a card. This is the robot he choose. For this card I used Me and My Big Ideas: Boy stack. I wanted to have a sentiment that was not just "Happy Birthday". I googled binary code for happy birthday and found this Binary Code Translation site. So cool, so I printed it off for my sentiment inside my shape robot card. Till next time,

I decided that I should share some of the layouts I have been doing recently. These layouts were actually inspired by the My Scraps and More daily challenges. Enjoy, I used the 4 circles as my photo base and I used 6 different patterns of paper within the circles and the borders, and the 10 flowers are spilling off the side to complete the embellishments. The circles were cut using the George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge and the paper comes from DCWV: My Sunshine Stack. I cut the title using the Type Candy Font Cricut Cartridge, the banner from Lovely Floral, the arrow from Graphically Speaking, and the circle from George and Basic Shapes. The paper comes from DCWV: The Dots, Stripes, and Plaids stack. I used stitching via twine on the ends of the larger border as well as using twine on the paper heart buttons. I love finding new blogs and places to find inspiration. This week I stumbled upon Stuck?!  or Stuck Sketches. Great site for some great sketch challenges. I loved the one they had up this month and decided I would try it. Here is their sketch: And here is my take on it: I used a sketch by Laura Whitaker from Scrapping around the clock blog. I used two different DCWV stacks. I used the Linen Closet Stack from 2010 and the Cinnamon Luster Stack from 2012. To embellish the layout I cut the banner from the Lovely Floral cart, the title came from the Jasmine cart, and the arrows came from the Graphically Speaking cartridge. I, also, entered this sketch in a challenge on  My Scraps and More  forum. Here they have challenges running daily as well as fun crop events and more. Check them out! Till next time,
