The ScrapRoom Blog Challenge

Image
I have to admit, as much as I love Christmas, I have a hard time scrapbooking Christmas layouts. I think it is because it is the same theme for pages and pages that makes it difficult. But, I can't bear to not have my Christmas album out for the month of December and for a couple of years now it has been behind. So, this year I was determined to get all the Christmas layouts completed. I've finished the last two years and am now on Christmas 2015. No surprise, but I'm running low on Christmas layout spirit. So, I decided that I better find some Christmas mojo. And that is where sketches come in! I love discovering new challenges and new challenge sites. My favorite challenges are sketch challenges. The ScrapRoom had a great sketch challenge this month. The winner will get to be a guest on their blog.  Here's the Sketch: Here's my take: For this layout I used Recollections: Winter Woodland Paper Stack I used my Cricut Explore to cut out th...

Christmas Album Share

So, I realize I've been doing a terrible job posting any of my projects - for that I apologize to. . . myself. :) I have been making handmade gifts for friends and family for the last couple of months and have not spent a lot of time scrapbooking. I suppose I should have taken pictures and posted about all those handmade crafts, but that for some reason did not occur to me so, oh well. Since the holidays are now past I have been trying to update my family Christmas album. I am a couple of years behind. So, I thought that I would share some of those layouts here. Enjoy! Queen of Sheba

Image
I have a great friend who adopted two beautiful girls from Ethiopia. Amazing girls, love them both! We went out to dinner with them to a place called Queen of Sheba - an Ethiopian restaurant. The girls were able to introduce us to some food from their country. Oh man, I'm in love. So good, I had to scrap about it! To do that, I used DCWV's sketch for their October stack-a-holics challenge. Their sketch: My Take; To Create this Layout I used: DCWV: The Modern Meadow Stack Elegant Cake Cricut Cartridge: Title Botanicals Cricut Cartridge: vine Storybook Cricut Cartridge: title base Photo Corners Cricut Cartridge: corners Thanks for the visit.  Till next time,

A Walk in the Woods

I went to a scrapbooking retreat this past weekend. How amazing it was to take a weekend to myself and to spend it doing what I love! It was fabulous. I stayed up late scrapping, woke up early, did my Bible Study, scrapped, had breakfast, scrapped some more, ate lunch, scrapped some more, had dinner, scrapped till late in the night and repeat - for three days! I will share many of those layouts here on my blog over this next week. But, first I will share the layout I completed for the challenge on the Let's Scrap  blog. I loved their sketch and decided it would be perfect for the pictures I had of our family hike.  Their sketch: My Take: Campout Cricut Cartridge - animal footprints, tree limb, pine cone, wood pecker and log Outdoor Man Cartridge: hiking boots Cricut Alphabet: title Thank you for stopping by,  Blessings till next time,
