Queen of Sheba

Image
I have a great friend who adopted two beautiful girls from Ethiopia. Amazing girls, love them both! We went out to dinner with them to a place called Queen of Sheba - an Ethiopian restaurant. The girls were able to introduce us to some food from their country. Oh man, I'm in love. So good, I had to scrap about it! To do that, I used DCWV's sketch for their October stack-a-holics challenge. Their sketch: My Take; To Create this Layout I used: DCWV: The Modern Meadow Stack Elegant Cake Cricut Cartridge: Title Botanicals Cricut Cartridge: vine Storybook Cricut Cartridge: title base Photo Corners Cricut Cartridge: corners Thanks for the visit.  Till next time,

A Walk in the Woods

I went to a scrapbooking retreat this past weekend. How amazing it was to take a weekend to myself and to spend it doing what I love! It was fabulous. I stayed up late scrapping, woke up early, did my Bible Study, scrapped, had breakfast, scrapped some more, ate lunch, scrapped some more, had dinner, scrapped till late in the night and repeat - for three days! I will share many of those layouts here on my blog over this next week. But, first I will share the layout I completed for the challenge on the Let's Scrap  blog. School Field Trip

Image
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is having a fun challenge.  Their challenge is to create a project this is school related. I decided to use the photos from when my son when on his field trip to Safeway when he was in preschool. It was such a fun day. We got to go behind the scenes of the grocery store to see how it runs. They ended the trip in the floral department where they each got to pick out a flower to take home. My sweet son picked one out and promptly walked it over to me saying "this is for you mom". A memory I will always cherish. To create this layout I used: DCWV: All About Boys paper stack Celebrations Cricut Cartridge: the Bag tag My Community cartridge: the Market Cricut Alphabet: Title Gold metal embellishments Twine Thank you so much for stopping by, Blessings,

Summer Break, literally!

Image
I really haven't scrapped much this summer. I always think that I will get so much done during the summer break and I don't know why I'm so surprised every year at how busy it ends up being. Not complaining at all, I promise. The summer has been great and we've done a lot of great things such as VBS, a trip to Arizona, time at the lake, park days, pool days, lazy days. Yes, it's been a good summer and it's not quite over yet! We've got two more weeks till school starts and I'm feeling the pressure to get in as much summer as I possibly can and eager at the same time to get back to a routine! If that makes any sense?! This week my 8 year old daughter decided she wanted to learn to use the Cricut, so of course I had to teach her! Its always been something I was hoping for - to have mother daughter crafting time! So, this is what we've been doing all weekend - literally :) And she caught on really quickly. I showed her what to do and she was off! ...

Holiday Magic in July

Image
The Stuck?!  blog has a cute sketch up for their first July sketch. It turned out perfect for some of last years "almost snowy day" pictures. Not a lot of snow for us last year, so we had to make the most of it! Here is the sketch: Here is my take: I used the BoBunny Noteworthy Winter Joy line which included: the paper, die cuts and pattern bases. The title: "The World is Your Canvas" comes from Design Space digital cartridge: Phone Decals. I also used some metal embellishments, twine, and bling. Thanks for taking a peek! Now enter your own layout over at  Stuck?! Till next time,
