Memorial Day!

Image
Happy Memorial Day everyone! It's that time of week again were we get to do a challenge over at the Fantabulous Cricut blog! The challenge this week is to create a project using the color red plus a flag, military symbol, or poppy on it.  Here's my creation! I looked through my cartridges and finally decided that I had to use an image from the A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge, one of my favorites! I loved this one with two children running with the flags. The sentiment came from the Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge. I then added some bling just to give it a nice touch, cause I love bling! The paper comes from one of my favorite DCWV paper stacks, The Green Stack. I love this paper and use it often! Now it's your turn, create a project and upload it to the Fantabulous Cricut blog!

I had created a door sign for my son's room awhile back and now was the perfect time to create on for my daughter. If you would like to see my son's, click HERE when you have finished looking at this post. Take a look at what I created for my daughter's door sign! Thank you for checking out my project and now it is your turn - create your own masterpeice and upload it at the  Cookin With Cricut blog.

PINKALICIOUS!

This is a week long Blogaversary celebration where you will see some awesome projects all week long. It is Wednesday and that means it's time for the Cookin With Cricut  wednesday challenge. This weeks theme is Pinkalicious. We are asked to create a project using your favorite shade of pink with satin-ribbons, fabric and/or flowers. This is the perfect theme for me as pink is one of my favorite colors and it gave me an excuse to create something for my daughter! Here is what I came up with: Grace need an extra thank you card to give to a family member to thank them for a birthday gift. Her theme was Tinkerbell, which is the cartridge I used to make this thank you card. To meet the challenge requirements I added a double layered prima flower held together with a heart brad in the upper left corner of the card. I think it finished off the card perfectly! The paper comes from the My Mind's Eye Party Time paper stack. Now it is your turn to go Pinkalicious and upload your cre

Abusive Relationship Awareness Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to the Abusive Relationship Awareness Blog Hop. While this may not be your typical blog hop theme, we decided to put together this hop in order to shed light on a topic that often goes unspoken about, when the truth is many of us have either been in an abusive relationship or know of someone who has. We're here not to celebrate abusive relationships, but to bring hope to those who have been firsthand or secondhand victims and to provide awareness to help put an end to this growing problem.  All of our projects showcased in this hop have something to do with hope, love, and encouragement. The color for domestic violence is purple, and as you'll see purple was used on many of our projects. For my project, I created.... A "Let's Connect" journal. A place where my husband and I can leave each other messages, telling each other how we feel about whatever is going on. It's a safe place to share. We started this journal when we first got married

Prom-enade

Image
It's that time again, for a challenge from Fantabulous Cricut ! This week we are asked to create a project using a tux/dress or prom/dance theme. This was a fun one for me, as my daughter is taking dance lessons right now. So cute! I decided to create a scrapbook layout for my project featuring my daughter at her first dance class. For this layout I used the Once Upon a Princess Cricut Cartridge to create my title and the little dancer next to it. I glammed it up with a little bit of glitter for a very simple but cute layout. The paper comes from The Paper Studio Uptown Flair paper stack.  Now it is your turn! Upload your "Prom-enade" project to Fantabulous Cricut ! See you there!

Mother's Day: A Gift Idea From Me

Image
This week at Cooking With Cricut  we are challenged to come up with a gift idea for Mother's Day. The catch? No cards allowed. Thats ok, because lately doing 3D projects have been very intriguing for me. So for this challenge I decided to 3D it. Using the Tags, Bags, and Boxes Cricut Cartridge I cut out this adorable purse. I embellished it with a flower and brad and used fiber as my handle. The paper comes from the DCWV La Creme stack. Now I have a very cute gift purse to fill up with some fun chocolate goodies and maybe even a coffee card! The nice thing about this gift purse is that its stands on its own, which makes it perfect to display on a shelf in your home. So, it's not only a gift box/purse but it's also home decor! Love it! Now it's your turn, what non card project can you come up with? Upload it to Cooking With Cricut  this week and see if you can take the prize!

Teacher Appreciation Day!

Image
If you are looking for the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl click HERE It's Teacher Appreciation Day at Cooking With Cricut  and that also means it's time for challenge 84!!!! This week the challenge is to create a card or gift for your favorite teacher and let them know that you care! Well, my daughter has a wonderful preschool teacher and I figured this challenge was the perfect opportunity to make a gift for her! The below project comes from a tutorial that I purchased from Inking Idaho , one of my favorite tutorial sites. She does amazing work with paper and I only wish I could come up ideas like this - well maybe I could but why when I can make her fabulous ideas! Enjoy my project! This desk organizer will be perfect to house those extra pencils and scissors and notes that are lying around the room. I added my own touch to the creation by make the blue inserts on the left and right dividers. This way she has a storage place for smaller objecs like rubber bands or pap
