The Passing of my beloved Cricut Expression

What started out as a very sad day indeed, turned into a blessing and creative evening! My most favorite and most widely used scrapbooking tool is my Cricut Expression. I love my expression and for over a year I have used it almost every day! It has helped me create wonderful layouts, albums, gifts, mini books, swaps, and decor. I had a feeling, a bad feeling, this evening as I went to create some cards for Mothers Day. My feelings were confirmed, my cricut expression passed on this evening. It had been ill for awhile and I did everything to revive it and to coax it back into the land of the working, but alas it was terminally ill. I finally came to grips with this as I could do nothing to breathe power into its body. It would not respond to outlet changes, or new power cords, or my many attempts at updating it. It was too late. With a sad and heavy heart I began to come to terms with my loss. Fortunately, due to the fact that I have an amazing and understanding husband (I am truly blessed by the Lord for such a man as this), I was able to say goodbye to my beautiful blue cricut

and say hello to it's replacement.

My husband, who had gone out to Bible study and then to the grocery store picked up my distress call and came to my rescue. He, being a wonderful man as I have already established and can't say enough, headed straight over to our local craft store and bought me a brand new Cricut Expression (which was on sale by the way, gotta love sales - they make you feel so much better about spending a lot of money).  I was so excited to have a new cricut without the power issues, I can't even tell you. It was so nice to plug it in and have it come on right away - what a change. The only disappointing factor in the whole story is that the new Cricut was just so . . . so. . . so. . . plain. I'm not complaining, no not at all - for a plain Cricut is a hundred times better than no Cricut at all. Well, I just had to do something about that. So, I searched YouTube for videos and/or tutorials on how to decorate my cricut using vinyl as painting it makes me pretty nervous. So, below is the finished product.

I'm still thinking about painting the gray sides pink, but that will come later, much later. So, I have put my old cricut to rest and have moved on with my life. It was a difficult journey but I learned and grew much. I was scared of vinyl but in my desperation to not have a plain Cricut I overcame my fears and stepped out into the new world of vinyl. Now I can't wait to use it again!
The End

  1. Awww...so sorry for your loss of your beloved blue Cricut. I think the design on the "plain" new found love of your life (only coming in second to your wonderful hubby of course) is anything but "PLAIN". Just beautiful.
