Cards, Cards, and Some More

My Creative Time Design Team Entry

Image
My Creative Time Blog is having a Design Team Call and I've decided to submit an entry. Below is the card I made for the DT call. I do not actually own any of her stamp sets, so I had to use one that I had. The stamp I decided to use is by 7 Gypsies. I had some fun using my new heat embosser to embellish the stamped wording.  I paired it with some pattern paper by Pink Paislee from their Bayberry Cottage 6x6 paper pad. The house and the tag was cut on paper from 7 Gypsies Collections From the Journey 8x8 paper stack. For the house, lantern and tag I used the Heritage Cricut Cartridge. The lantern is lite with gold colored stickles and I embellished the stamp tag with a couple of simple black buttons. The card itself is 6 1/2 by 5 in size. Thank you for the opportunity Emma!

Big Night of Scrappin

Lightening Mcqueen Wall Decor

Image
Fantabulous Cricut put up this week's challenge and it was very good timing!! We just put my son into a twin "big boy" bed complete with Lightening Mcqueen bedding. Needless to say he is very excited!!! Anyway, I have the Cars cricut cartridge and had been thinking about making him some wall decor. So, when this challenge came up it was the perfect motivation to get working on the project and tonight happened to be my scrap night (my DH plays a video game with a friend on Mondays). So, I used some vinyl and canvas to create what will be his "head board" to his bed. Will post a pic of it hanging in his room later, right now he is sleeping :) It was actually harder than I thought it would be. I has some airbubbles in it, but I think you have to get up close to see them. Overall, I think it will be very cute in his room!

Pumpkin Welcome Sign

Image
I found this awesome site recently called Fantabulous Cricut . There they post tips and tricks, you can find great ideas, and they have some great challenges. Like the one they posted for this week. The challenge was to create a project that contained a pumpkin or pumpkins. I have been thinking that my home is really lacking in fall/harvest decor so that is the direction I decided to go in. So, I decided to make a welcome sign. I used chipboard for the first time to create the base of the sign and then added pattern paper layers on top. Just one note: the chipboard I used came from the bottom of a box, it was the cardboard liner. Thin enough and it actually cut really well! I braided up some thin twine to use as the hanger and hung it up. I think it turned out pretty cute, for my first chipboard project!

Cards and Card Boxes

Image
I've been on a card kick lately. I found a great tutorial on a blog recently and had to try it. It was for creating card boxes. So, after my relax card I have uploaded some pictures of the card boxes I made and an example of the cards I made to go with them. You can find the tutorial at http://www.fabulouslyartsy.com/2009/05/card-box-tutorial.html
