Happy Thanksgiving and a Fun New Toy

Image
I am so thankful for an amazing husband and my two amazing children! The Lord has blessed me beyond deserving! Thank you Lord for everything I have been given in this amazing life! Joann's opened their doors at 6am Wednesday morning this week.  Yup they started their Black Friday sales on Wednesday this year - Yeah! So, I went of course and stood in line for only a half hour with some other very friendly crafters. Not much of a line, I'm guessing most people didn't catch the early sale in the ads. I walked in the store and asked for guidance to the nearest Cricut Explore and she directed me to the front counter, where their one and only Cricut Explore for the Black Friday sale was kept. Yes,  yes, yes, yes!!! It was mine! So, of course I brought it home and unfortunately had to set it aside as I had much prep work to do for Thanksgiving the next day. I can't even begin to tell you how difficult it was to leave it alone in it's box for so many hours until I ...

Rock On!!!

Image
One of my children's favorite things to do is to ride our bikes down to the river and throw rocks into the water. They can do this forever, no matter how long or short the trip. It's a beautiful location and I definitely don't mind perching myself on the flattest rock I can find and take pictures of the kids and the scenery. This week at the new Let's Scrap blog they are having their 4th challenge:   Challenge #4 - Photo Inspiration The photo I choose as inspiraton was this one below. I saw the water and immediately thought of the pictures I have taken by the river. I decided to just use the same sketch as the one Susanna used as her example, sketch 2-1-12. I choose to use the left side of the sketch as well. My take on the sketch: For this layout I used the following: The Garden Party paper stack: DCWV Groovy Times: Cricut Cartridge Basic Gray "Hey You" chipboard diecuts. Distressing ink Sma...

VBS 2014: Crafting on a Larger Scale!

For our church's annual Vacation Bible School the theme is Arrow Island! This year the decor team has grown and so has our church decor! What an amazing talented group of people I was able to work with. Even though this isn't a scrapbook related, we did a lot of amazing things with paper to decorate the church with so I figure why not! So, enjoy the tour! Welcome to Arrow Island! Water Fall made by a friend on the decor team did an amazing job of creating a realistic looking waterfall in our church lobby. Her husband created room dividers and then she covered them in white fabric with brown on the sides for rocks. The white fabric is then covered with white and blue tulle then shine streamers over that. The foam is cotton and the water is shiny see thru wrapping paper with colorful fish underneath. Some blue and green lights finish it off as well as lots of greenery, rocks, and flowers! Well, I hope you enjoye...

Let's Scrap Sketch

Another great layout sketch over at Let's Scrap ! Check it out! The Sketch: My Take: The best part of the zoo, I think, is where the kids got to feed the birds. The zoo keepers gave them sticks with bird food and they held them out until a bird would land on their stick and eat the food. What a fun experience! This layout was created using DCWV: The Green Stack and Noah's ABC's Cricut Cartridge for the title and the bird diecuts. Blessings!
