P is for Puppy

I am so excited to announce that I was choosen as a Guest Designer this month for the double page layout sketch at Stick It Down. 

I love scrap booking and really love working with sketches. I have been scrapbooking for over 20 years at this point. I have two children, a golden-doodle, and I'm married to the best man a girl could ask for. And when I say the best I mean it! This man puts up with my scrapbooking obsession as well as my coffee addiction and my love of books (which are everywhere)!  I enjoy spending time in my craft room creating layouts for our family scrapbook albums. It is so fun to be able to open our family albums and not just look at pictures but relive the memories through the layouts themselves. I put my albums in the order in which things happened and I go year by year. The only problem with this method is that I end up with a lot of albums! I tend to scrap everything, however I find that it is so worth it when I look at my children enjoying them. 

The two page sketch for this month was so much fun to work with! It was perfect for the many photos I had of when our Golden doodle was a puppy. For this sketch I choose to use DCWV: Just My Type paper stack. The colors in this stack are bold and fun and really went well with our puppy's personality. My title comes from Nate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge and I used lots of embellishments from my stash as well as creating embellishments with die cuts from Design Space. I don't know about you, but using up my stash is very satisfying!

We are now into August and I have been thinking a lot about the fact that school is coming. I have been homeschooling my daughter for the past year and a half. She is now going to go to a Christian school in the fall for junior high. I can't believe that she is in 7th grade already! I am both sad for me and excited for her. Let's Scrap - Friends Forever

Since moving away from my home town I don't get to see my old high school/college friends very often. There was a core group of us that hung out beginning in high school and we are all friends still. The one friend that was responsible for all of us meeting and ultimately becoming friends was getting married. It was so fun to all be back together for an evening. What was also fun was seeing all of our children together. Definitely one of those sentimental moments that needs to be scrapbooked and kept for all time! Let's Scrap has a fantastic sketch up on the blog that was perfect for these pictures. This sketch included a fun element: booklet.
