Happy Thanksgiving and a Fun New Toy

Image
I am so thankful for an amazing husband and my two amazing children! The Lord has blessed me beyond deserving! Thank you Lord for everything I have been given in this amazing life! Joann's opened their doors at 6am Wednesday morning this week.  Yup they started their Black Friday sales on Wednesday this year - Yeah! So, I went of course and stood in line for only a half hour with some other very friendly crafters. Not much of a line, I'm guessing most people didn't catch the early sale in the ads. I walked in the store and asked for guidance to the nearest Cricut Explore and she directed me to the front counter, where their one and only Cricut Explore for the Black Friday sale was kept. Yes,  yes, yes, yes!!! It was mine! So, of course I brought it home and unfortunately had to set it aside as I had much prep work to do for Thanksgiving the next day. I can't even begin to tell you how difficult it was to leave it alone in it's box for so many hours until I ...

Family Kept By God

Image
This past weekend a good friend of mine had a housewarming party. They recently bought a new house and renovated it themselves. They did a fantastic job. I wanted to make them something for their new home and decided to check out my favorite source for ideas, Pinterest ! I found this great wood block craft that I thought would be perfect. The Inspiration: Here's my project: I used the Storybook Cricut Cartridge for the word "Family" and I used the Once Upon a Princess Cricut Cartridge for "Kept By God". I pulled out some pattern paper with the greens and yellows in it, as this is my friends favorite colors. For my ribbon I used some green Crinkle Ribbon. I have to say I love crinkle ribbon. If you are interested in getting some yourself you can check out My Craft Spot  for some great color choices. Till next time,

Pins To Creation - Chalkboard Paint

Image
Welcome back for another Pinterest inspired creation for the  Pins to Creation blog ! For this post I decided to make a very fun project for my best friend who recently moved to Denver, sigh :( They were going to be making a long drive over from the state of Washington with their three kids, so a group of us from our church made each of the kids an activity bag. We stuffed the bags with all sorts of activities to keep them busy in the car. My contribution was inspired by the below project: You can see this orginial project at Little Birdie Secrets You will, also, find this picture pinned to my Pinterest boards  Stuff I've Done/Tried .  Feel free to visit me on Pinterest and be a follower! Here's my project: After painting the clipboards I had chipboard paint leftover so I painted this shadow box glassless frame for my daughter's room. Thank you for visiting and checking out my Pinterest Project idea. Be sure to ...

Welcome to Paper Crafting World and Cooking With Cricut’s Home Décor Blog Hop! Our Design Teams are so excited to bring you a two-day hop that focuses on projects for your home – that’s right no cards or scrapbook layouts in this hop! You should have arrived here from visiting Jill at Jaihart . If you’ve joined us in mid-Hop and would like to check out all the other fantastic projects head on over Melinda’s Paper Crafting World   and start at the beginning. And, here's my project! I have loved using vinyl around the house, so this hop was absolutely the perfect excuse to do some more! I used three cartridges to create this vinyl wall phrase in my laundry room: Lovely Floral - accents Storybook - Laundry Once Upon a Princess - Or Naked Tommorrow Here are some more pictures of the wall decor. I had some left over black vinyl and an empty frame so I cut the word family using the Lovely Floral Cricut Cartridge and applied it to the outside of the glass for a simple wall dec...

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Image
Well, everyone I have some very exciting news - I am now a member of the Cooking With the Cricut  design team. I'm so excited about this, as you all know that I am an avid fan of the working with the cricut machine in general. And now I have double the excuse to cricut create!!! This week is my first challenge for Cooking With the Cricut  and the challenge is to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday by creating a project featuring your favorite Dr. Seuss book or a project that encourages reading. I choose to do the second. I used my gypsy to weld this picture together. The reading boy and girl come from the A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge, the books in the middle come from the Wrap It Up cartridge, and the sentiment comes from the Storybook Cartridge. I though that this would be perfect to decorate our reading nook upstairs. I will hang it above the bookcase at a later date, only because we will start painting walls soon. I hope you enjoyed this first project that I create...

Lightening Mcqueen Wall Decor

Image
Fantabulous Cricut put up this week's challenge and it was very good timing!! We just put my son into a twin "big boy" bed complete with Lightening Mcqueen bedding. Needless to say he is very excited!!! Anyway, I have the Cars cricut cartridge and had been thinking about making him some wall decor. So, when this challenge came up it was the perfect motivation to get working on the project and tonight happened to be my scrap night (my DH plays a video game with a friend on Mondays). So, I used some vinyl and canvas to create what will be his "head board" to his bed. Will post a pic of it hanging in his room later, right now he is sleeping :) It was actually harder than I thought it would be. I has some airbubbles in it, but I think you have to get up close to see them. Overall, I think it will be very cute in his room!
