Happy Thanksgiving and a Fun New Toy

Image
I am so thankful for an amazing husband and my two amazing children! The Lord has blessed me beyond deserving! Thank you Lord for everything I have been given in this amazing life! Joann's opened their doors at 6am Wednesday morning this week.  Yup they started their Black Friday sales on Wednesday this year - Yeah! So, I went of course and stood in line for only a half hour with some other very friendly crafters. Not much of a line, I'm guessing most people didn't catch the early sale in the ads. I walked in the store and asked for guidance to the nearest Cricut Explore and she directed me to the front counter, where their one and only Cricut Explore for the Black Friday sale was kept. Yes,  yes, yes, yes!!! It was mine! So, of course I brought it home and unfortunately had to set it aside as I had much prep work to do for Thanksgiving the next day. I can't even begin to tell you how difficult it was to leave it alone in it's box for so many hours until I ...

Back to School

Image
Well, it's time to get ready for school and what a different year this will be for me and my family. My daughter is now in Kindergarten and offically began her Kindergarten year yesterday. It's amazing how quickly life goes and the kids grow up. I feel so sad and amazed by her at the same time. I can't believe I have child in school now! A new chapter has definitely begun! Well, this week at Cookin With Cricut it's all about school. I decided to make a shape card, check it out below. I thought that this card would be fun as a birthday card for my father n law (shhhh don't tell him). He used to drive buses for a living before he retired. I used my gypsy to take the bus off the Nate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge and weld it together with a second bus to create a card. Your turn, upload your Back to School creation to Cookin With Cricut!

Elephantly Speaking

Image
This week over at Bitten By The Bug 2 the challenge is to create a project using an elephant from any cartridge of our choosing. Fun! This was an easy choice, I just loved the elephant on Nate's ABC's, so adorable! Using my gyspy I welded two of the elephant images together to create the card. I used some pattern paper from DCWV's The Green Stack (on of my favorites) to make my elephant. Inside the card I used a stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps  for my sentiment "Keep on trunkin". I, also, embossed it for a little added fun. I hope you enjoyed my card, thanks for a great challenge this week!

Singing In The Rain

Image
It's time for another challenge over at the Cooking With Cricut blog! This weeks challenge is: Welcome Spring! We are asked to create a project inspired by our favorite spring song.  (Examples:  “Spring Fever” by Elvis Presley;   “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles; “It’s a Beautiful Day” by U2; “I Got the Spring Fever Blues” by Ella Fitzgerald). My favorite spring song? Well, to be honest it's the only one I know - Singing in the Rain! I decided to create a layout for the rainy day pictures I have taken of my kids. Unfortunately, no pics yet, but here is the layout. I used the following cartridges to create this layout: 3 Birds On Parade - raindrops and embossed them Nate's ABCs - umbrella and boots Once Upon A Princess - sentiment Storybook - journal box The paper comes from the My Mind's Eye Laundry Line paper stack. I hope you enjoyed my project this week and I really hope that you will create your own and link it up at the Cookin With Cricu...
