Scrap Queen

Sadly, it is that time of year again - time to go back to school. Fall is my favorite season however my love for it is a little dampened by having to take my kiddos to school. I like having them around! At any rate it is here and this weeks Challenge was in perfect timing as I love making the teachers a card to tell them we already appreciate all the work they've done to get ready for the year! It's time for another great sketch from Let's Scrap Challenge blog ! This is a fun one to play around with, so get inspired and play along! This is sketch worked perfectly with what I wanted to do with these photos of my kids during homeschool. We did this fun experiment with a volcano using The Magic School Bus science kit that I was able to highlight using the right side of the sketch. With the left side, I didn't have good photos to put eight small photos so I made them two 4x6s instead. There is a lot going on over at Let's Scrap  for National Scrapbook Day/month and I'm hoping to get a lot done, however, it's a slow start :( But, I did get three layouts done so far so I thought I'd share them here. I will say that the pics were taken with my phone so the quality won't be as usual. I love sketch challenges so the the NSD 2014 Sketch Contest was right up my alley. Check out the sketches and my take on them below. The Sketch: My Take: My son is in preschool and his favorite part of the day is pick up when all the boys in the class converge out on the front lawn for a little big of steam release. To create this layout I used the blue base paper from DCWV's White Ginger Stack. The corresponding accent papers come from Me and My Big Ideas. So, I'm on a roll and of course I have to post all my layouts. I'm just way too excited about getting so much done for our family scrapbook! These layouts were all completed using sketches from the My Scraps and More Birthday Sketch-a-thon.  (From this point on I will not be posting the sketches. You will have to create an account and see for yourself) :) This challenge required the use of inks. I used Tim Holt'z Walnut stain distress ink and Colorbox inks to distress all the pattern paper peices used on this layout. The circle paper comes from George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge and the "Preschool" title comes from the Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge. The "ABC" in the lower right corner comes from the Recess Cricut Cartridge. The paper is DCWV: My Sunshine. This layout challenge required the use of stamps.
